Well, my Thin Skin 52 Tele ships Monday. I can barely contain myself.
If I'm correct, thin skins have been out for a year two now.
How are your finishes holding up? Pics?

I've had my TS '59 Jazzmaster for a month now. Sorry it's not a Tele!

So far it's just showing ghost scratches on the back and a tiny ding on one of the edges. The finish is very, very thin and seems a lot softer than poly. I'm not treating it any differently than my other guitars.

Good luck with your TS. The waiting is the hardest part!

To my knowledge, even anongst the vintage 50s guitars, it took decades on guitars that weren't totally mistreated to begin to show wear. I wouldn't expect anythintoo soon, though I don't own one myself.

That's what I understand. No need to be sorry. :)

I'll try to get some pics but I've got some wear on the neck edges right through. There's some pretty good dings from stupidity, the finish tended to flake where it got smacked (long story), but overall it's held up really well.

    It's the journey...not the destination. :)

    Thin Skin tele owners...
Did you have the paint can ring under the pickguard?
I was surprised to find it under mine.

Congrats to the OP, the Thin Skins are VERY nice.

Blacklove that Jazzmaster is gorgeous! Every time I look around I can't find a thin skin Jazzmaster. Are they back?

This is actually the opposite of true with vintage Fenders. They wore pretty quick if they got played without "kid gloves". I used to know of some good example pics, but my memory is getting too bad as I get older I guess. I'll try to find some or maybe someone knows the ones I'm talking about.
