    Crap.

I thought I needed new glasses, seeing ad banners in Chinese. Or whatever language that is.

One word looked like a seagull taking a s**t on a puppy.

Now see, that’s where they have a distinct advantage. They can convey that thought with a single character while we would need at least two sentences to get the thought acros clearly......

We are so linguistically inefficient, it’s pitiful!

The rule is to explaine what you are talking about. "Last night in sweden" isn't enough...

Come on folks, don't dwell on it.

    Step one, report the post.

    Step two, ignore the user.

They are typically hitting the forum with one or maybe two users at a time. If you ignore those two users, the forum will display clear again.

Site may have actually been hacked. I got a "ransom" (yeah, good luck with that morons) email today with my username and password for this site. Granted, it's my "throwaway" password that I use on all the forum sites I join (yeah, bad idea, but they're just forums) but given that this is the only one I'm on that's currently under assault, it makes me suspicious. There was no other personal data other than my username, password, and of course the email address associated with this site.

Well that's pretty creepy that your password would be accessible to hackers on any site. You may want to also consider the alternative that your computer is infected and someone is tracking your logins.

I did the ignore thing twice, so let's see if that does it. But I don't think so.

First, it's no big deal for them to use new user names, but don't you still see "Ignored Member" with their posts?

The bummer about ignoring is that the threads still show up on the app.

Yeah, I'll screencap it next time. The "New Posts" page still shows the full thread title complete with all the spam, then very helpfully [ignored] for the name of the thread starter.

The sad fact is that people smart enough to hack forums aren't using their intellect to help cure cancer or whatever.

    Well done humanity....again.

    See! Isn’t this remarkably helpful?

I truly do not understand why the app doesn’t filter threads from ignored members the way it does in a browser. Makes we wonder if I have a setting goofed up somewhere, but unfortunately the “ignore” feature isn’t surefire.
