I haven't had the coffee yet.... I was thinking it was the photoless original thread....LOL. This technique and many of the others are just the methods of Charles Fox and George Morris, and the people before them....and so on.

The gold looks really classy on that guitar.

Did you get your coffee yet??

On the old thread, I added a pdf with the images if anyone is interested in a download of the method.

You were fortunate to have some wonderful teachers in real life teach you these things. Many of us, me included have learned from threads on here and Youtube videos!!

You shared what you learned and I appreciate that!

John this came out very nice. And it looks like that in reality - not just glamour shots. The wood choices -excellent

    It felt pretty light.

Awesome job on the shielding - you have made the pickup cavities and the entire neighborhood a safer place!! You will not look back:D

Not generally a fan of good hardware, but I do like that. Although, my back hurts just looking at that guitar....
    **edit**
I read further and apparently it isn't really all that heavy... good.

Truss rod slot plug? (Probably not the proper vernacular)

Oh yeah!! It slipped my mind, Helmut played this guitar!! You guys can ask him!

Thanks for the compliments and feedback. Or the lack of feedback due to encouraging me (very strongly) to shield the guitar!! I feel better knowing the world is safe due to the shielding!

That's a definite 'visual statement' and it's beautiful. I am in awe of you folk who can do things like that.

That is the right description of this guitar, a "visual statement"!! LOL

It's funny around 4 years ago I would have said the same thing to the others on the forum that built guitars. After getting a few builds under my belt, it's now a bunch of fun!

Now I'm looking for ways to push the designs and looks to create something unique and not have a cookie cutter guitar!!

That means some like what I do and others think it's crap!!

Thanks for the compliment!! I appreciate you feeding my delicate ego!!

Hey Dan... did this just for you! ;)

    IMG_1830.JPG

That is the weight of the complete guitar!!!

This walnut was quite light. If I recall correctly the body alone weighed just slightly over 4 pounds.

I love that guitar but I think I'd feel a little like a footballer with gold boots - to play it in public I'd need to be a much better guitarist.

Sorry, that was an older picture with the pearloid guard. Here's one I took this morning with the cream guard and then I read your post about how you didn't like your dull and lifeless cream guard. :D I guess each project is different because for mine it wasn't "done" until I put that cream guard on.

I love Walnut for Teles and Strats. I have a Walnut Tele with Rio Grande Charlie Christian pickups. I am in the process of building a Walnut Strat with Klein JazzyKat pickups.

    Pictures to follow
