I guess it should say “the snow WAS gone.” There were several hours yesterday where there was no snow on the ground in my yard. Before that, we had had some snow somewhere in our yard since some point in November or December. I was ready for it to be gone.

Of course, by the time I got home from work, we had more snow. And, by this morning, we had even more. But, the first snow free (partial) day marks a turning point every year. This has been a long winter, but there is hope.

Ours was gone in December and in January , again in early Feb. This year we think we will see the last of it by late May or maybe early June:eek:

The snow's not gone where I live but it never snows where I am. Hello from Maui. Sometimes you just need to get out of Dodge.

You just need to get up to the peak of Haleakala at the right time :D

Snowing right now and the town 1000' below us is forecasted for 3" to 5" by morning. I have shoveled 99 1/2" of snow off the deck so far this season.

Yup, I expect "for sale" signs going up from noobies very soon. It seems to be about a 5 year cycle.:lol:

This is from a trip up Haleakala in 2015. One hurricane had passed a few days before and another was on the way. The clouds were up over the top and in this photo can be seen spilling down the walls of the crater. 20 minutes later they had pretty much covered everything including the vents. The trip down was downright scary. I could barely see 20 feet ahead of me most of the way. Drive between the lines took on new meaning, especially on sections of the road without guard rails. It was actually a blessing to see rain on the way down because it broke the fog a little and I could see 100 feet ahead.

Gone except for shady spots in town. This coming weekend is the end of the ski season at the local resort.

I'm sad to see it go. Yard work is more tiresome that a bit of shoveling

Who doesn't like snow? It keeps all the neighbors inside. No non stop buzzing from mowers, weed whackers and leaf blowers all day long.

It's been more than a bit here in Alberta. Taken + 2 hours to shovel on many days. I'll take grass and a power mower!.

    Totally agree fellow Albertan

Me. And I used to be ski patrol.

I'm in Kelowna, so in the Ok valley and not that much snow at my elevation. But summer ! Trust me, my wife will decide to replant everything and move them around, and dig up the garden, etc... and guess who is the wielding the shovel? :(

There is still snow on the ground here in Winnipeg. Slowly but surely the dog poop is revealing itself.

Looking around at the local mountains & snowboard/skiers, we still have a ways to go
