I love the cheese grater resonator. It fits with the a bumble foot Swiss cheese guitar.
Here's my ugliest guitar in it's 'most ugly' state:
I've since swapped the blinged-out p/u surrounds for regular black ones & have gone back to black speed knobs... looks almost normal now
As far as production guitars go, the Kay Solo King has to be the worst. Not only is it awful, but the name is godawful as well. It appears someone designed the bottom half of the guitar, then fell asleep:
I was looking for that guy! Horrible guitar. Kay made a few;
Am I wrong? This is the cat that made the axe, that inspired this thread. He signed up to let us know that.
I personally wouldn't want one, I suppose, but it does seem like quite an effort. Better to do this than to sit on a couch all day!
Had to look closely at that. I initially thought it was designed for 'brown sound'
I second the motion, guitars with bigsbys are uglier than hell. They look like civil war era medical devices.

These guitars make me lose a little faith in humanity.
I dub thee "Dookiecaster!" yuck!
That got a lol.
I would have incorporated the cats arm into the twang-bar. I'm sure it would have sounded like stepping on the cats tail.
"cause i'm a chickenhead man"
My first build. It seems like it was
1970. My young son helped me paint
Laugh if you want, but I bought a used
Fender pickup for $15. It's a 1968 Tele
bridge pickup. Now days, they sell for
$400 to $600 on eBay. It sounds
People say that my latest Fido is pig ugly.
I love it though, really responsive instrument and the cheap humbuckers (One from an old Ibanez the other from a Korean Epiphone) are quite microphonic which enhances the responsive tonal quality of the pine body.
I haven't played it through my live rig yet though, god knows, it might squeal and feedback like crazy.
