    The hosting website, eeesh...

Anyway, what is the origin of the files?

I made them today at school on photoshop, using a template I'd found somewhere on here. I have them on my computer, but the original file is too large to post. You can download the files really easily on that site though... I did before I posted the thread to be sure.

Well, it does work, you just have to type in the three letter code you see on the first page then you have to wait about a minute on the second page and click "Download" on that page when it appears.

Good to know about that website. I've had PDF files in the past that were too large to host on the forum.

Pop ups too, I hate those sites, but yea, to get large file hosted I guess you gotta pay one way or the other.

Are these the Terry Downs files ?

Yeah, I know it takes some patience, but I tried all I could to get them on here without that extra site, and I couldn't do anything. I figured if someone saw the smaller pictures, and thought they'd be useful, they'd wait the minute for 'em. Just an assumption.

What I don't understand is why the file is so large. A few thin lines ........ 2.3 MB.

Just when I saved them from photoshop, they saved very largely. I'll go back in tomorrow and change the size if I can. I didn't expect them to be that large either, though...

That's outrageously large, especially since the original .pdf was only 10k.

Yes, I understand. I'm not sure why it is, but I can't fix it until the morning, which I will. I just don't have the software at home. My apologies...

Photoshop will save a PDF of a file like that as a graphic. PDFs can be vector art or images -- since Photoshop is an Image program it saves PDFs as images. I think that the OP has taken the original Vector art from someone and opened it in Pshop converting it to a graphic image.

This would explain why it is 2.3 megs. I think that what it is now is basically a photograph -- not a blueprint as it started out in Autocad.

Probably only way to fix this to open the original art in Illustrator, not Pshop and make your changes and then output the pdf in Illustrator instead of Photoshop.

I'm just guessing about what's happened with the file -- but it seems plausible.

I will try this then. Thank you for your help.

EDIT: It worked! The two templates are attached at 160.5 KB. Enjoy!

a good hosting site is Mediafire. You can host CAD files there, whatever. There are of course ads but that's about the most annoying thing you will have to deal with.
