Tele neck pickup that is close to a strat neck

I just received an SX Furrian BSB in the mail today. I really like this guitar. Great build, flawless fretwork, nice chunky neck.

I am going to swap out the pickups. The stock bridge pup isn't bad, but I really like the SD Broadcaster so I'm going to put one of those in.

The neck pickup, however, I don't like. It has a really muffled sound, like someone dropped a blanket over it. In my other tele, I have a strat pup in the neck position, and I really like that sound. However, I'd like to use tele chrome pickup covers for this one. This is mostly for cosmetic reasons - I'm going to be replacing the black pickguard with an aged white pickguard, and I think a standard chrome tele pickup will look much better in the neck position than an exposed strat pup.

Can anybody offer some recommendations for a good tele neck pickup that will get me in the neighborhood of a strat neck pickup, and that will work well with the SD Broadcaster?

Bill Lawrence's L202TN has a chromed cover that doesn't affect highend at all, and actually has better clarity and highs than almost any Strat pickup.

Perfect combo and in phase with the Duncan Broadcaster is the Rio Grande Tallboy--very stratty sound and fits right into the tele neck rout. I have only used uncovered Tallboys, but they make one with a chrome cover. I can't comment on the tonal difference.

Any Fender neck pickup will be out of phase with the Duncan bridge pickup.

I do like the look of chrome covers but an uncovered neck pickup can look pretty "right" in matching the bridge pickup's look.

Rio Grande Muy Grande neck pickup is my suggestion. If you are desiring a full, punchy tone, this is the one.

Twang King or Nocaster.... ok maybe not as 'clangy' as a strat PU, but definitely brighter and not muted like a traditional tele neck PU.

Almost any Tele neck pickup in a non-metallic housing (or no housing at all) will sound pretty danged Stratty. Bill and Becky's L-202TN is a good bet, as is their Keystone Tele neck pickup. Both of them have chromed plastic housings and alnico slug pole pieces, but I'm not sure if the Keystone is available separately without the matching bridge pickup, which BTW to my ear is a better all-around pickup than any of hundreds of Nocaster/Broadcaster clones out there, including SD's -- but of course YMMV.

I have a 2012 Ash Tele with the Fender broadcaster in the bridge, and a Twisted Telly neck pickup and it sounds pretty Straty on the neck pickup. It's a very good sounding pickup, you can knock out leads with it no problem, raising and lowering the height of the pickup changes it pretty dramatically. You'll need to find what works for you.
