When the control plates on it, no one will ever know...;)

Just like my SX Tele that I used my largest drill bit to route out some more depth into the neck PU cavity, with the pickguard on, no one knows the horror inside

    True dat.

I wonder why he never has necks on the site? Always bass necks but I can't recall ever seeing a guitar neck there.

Me Neither. Could use a real cheap neck over here.

Is '3 piece' standard on most Tele bodies??

A regular tele neck pocket is 5/8" deep.

Good observation, Marty (no surprise). Assume one could simply lay or glue in a 1/8" 'shim. Interesting this is routed for SCs - my 2 SX based projects were both routed for neck HB.

I was thinking the same thing! Somewhere, Creston is smiling.

I bought 3 of the Rondo bodies in the Summer/Fall. They are pretty nice, but are also heavy and the hardwood doesn't look the west coast alder I'm familiar with. The price is right though. For 60 bucks more you get the whole guitar with parts and paint. The bodies have that thick poly finish on them and one had some bondo-like wood filler in one spot. I'm thinking opaque paint here.

Hey Marty! How was the bridge route location?? Did you have to open it up? What I'm getting at is I've found those routes to be 3/8" too close to the neck.

I wonder why the bodies aren't string thru when all the SX models are?

The routes are pretty wacky looking on my sx body. I have it apart right not to try shielding for my first time. But ya, I think the guy routing it may have been missing an eye. Or maybe both.

I never got beyond drilling one for a vintage bridge screws and ferrules. I sold it at a guitar show for a loss. I'll have to take a look at another in the back room and compare. That picture is pretty much right on of what mine look like though.

Well I measured one of my own pine bodies that I recently routed and that has a measurement of 4.625 from the front " point" of the lead pickup rout to the end of the neck cavity. The Rondo body is 4.5" +/- a hair for the same place. Now in fairness to the Rondo, the pup rout is wider too by about .063 or so. So all in all, it is probably different than mine by 1/16" or so, easily adjusted with the saddles intonated. The neck pocket is 23/32" deep, not quite 3/4".
