Rebel Without a Cause starts in 5 min., then Gilda, Breathless, Viva Las Vegas, Zou Zou, and Night of the Hunter. The best network on cable strikes again!

For those who don't get TCM, Sundance has The Dirty Dozen in an hour, and tomorrow they've got Kelly's Heroes, Memphis Belle, Top Gun, Field of Dreams, Officer and a Gentleman, and Good Will Hunting.

I am only 37 years old. What is a “cable network”?

Is this like when my grandpappy talks about TV channels and how they had once chance to see the show and at only one specific time?

I kid. But honestly the serendipity of TV is dead for much of my generation at this point. And a mystery to younger generations.

I only commented because it strikes me as funny to post TV Guide entries on a guitar forum.

I hope I'm not seen as disloyal to my own generation, but I've NEVER liked James Dean and his "introspective", scenery-chewing acting style. I know he's held in high esteem by many, and dying so young probably cemented his standing with the public, but it is what it is. I do like Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo. And Jim Backus will always be Thurston Howell III and Mr Magoo! :)

...and teach 'em to play Kick the Can in the fading light of a warm June evening after a TV Dinner...

You are standing in the forest. The trees are all around you .

It’s about the movies. Not where you see them.

Just because you’re an elder millennial doesn’t mean you have escaped their peccadillos . I know movies are super long (OMG ! Is this over soon ?) and many “classic“ ones are in black-and-white ( but there are some works of art out there that you can watch on many different platforms if you can pay attention for that long…

I check TCM regularly and fire up the dvr to capture films I want to see. Last week I saw Claire’s Knee and Pandora’s Box (the beautiful Louise Brooks). Among others I have Harvey, Five Easy Pieces, Seven Samurai, Last Picture Show and Destry Rides Again.

Woodstock is starting right now on TCM, followed by Easy Rider. The theme tonight is 1969.

Exactly my point. It doesn’t matter when either! Glad it didn’t pass you by.

Doesn’t make the OP any less of an idiosyncratic TV guide analog.

    What does TCM mean?!

Rebel is part of our summer movie outdoor series. Not too bad this year. Looking forward to a few. My favorite year was actually the silent movie/Buster Keaton year.
