I thought it would be fun to post these in a fresh thread. These are frames from the Forrest White 8mm footage shot in the Fender plant at 500 South Raymond in Fullerton, CA about 1957. The film has been occasionally identified also as being shot in 1959. While the quality isn't perfect, some might see the value of looking back in time.
    Tadeo Gomez, working on necks?

The wider image is stitched together from multiple frames in the footage.

He looks to be wearing something like that. In other pictures provided by his family, he is also wearing a cap or head covering of some sort.

...back when the footage was taken, he was just some kid working in a factory.
Hey, Tadeo, how many necks did you finish today? We got a quota here. Don't take too long. If Fender is making around 3000 guitars per year, Tadeo needs to be completing 10 necks per day, giver or take a few. A little more than one per hour. When the total production volume goes up, then maybe 20 a day. You work at a factory for 10 years, 20 years or more, that's a few necks. After maybe 6 or 7 thousand necks, maybe the thrill is gone a little.

but yeah, I'd love to see some of those necks in person.

Well, something's wrong : the Tadeo Gomez of the black and white "early 50's" photography looks much older to me that the one from the 1957 color pics. Could it possibly be the same guy?

It is a good point, considering in the summer of 1957, Tadeo Gomez was 54 years old. I do think the guy, who is identified in the youtube video as Tadeo Gomez (the internet is never wrong) is a little older than he looks in the stills. And, Gomez was only 5' 8"
So, let's look at all the guys working on necks in the film...

...with another look at that last fellow, sanding a neck, and Fred Fullerton (George Fullerton's father) cutting a neck on the bandsaw

The neck on my 54 Strat was a Tadeu Gomez. It wasn't until I joined this forum that I learned what the letters TG stood for. It was dated September, 1954.

This is, without question, Tadeo Gomez at his Fender workstation in the 1950's

Ditto. Although I don't remember whether it was 09 or just 9. Guess who never took a picture of it? Also, the body was marked 9/54 or 09/54. Is it my faulty member that thinks it was written with a woodburning tool? The neck was in pencil.

On a same line, under the screw, it is marked with a kind of dark blue pencil

TG 9-54 (the G has a very "square" writing)
