Any fans on here?
I love the guy!
One of the greats!
Love the guy, one of my favorite blues artist's. My band from a few years back accused me of trying to turn the band into a Tab Benoit tribute band! Would love to see him live.
Great blues guy, vocals and guitar.
I like him a lot. He's very good at doing that thing where he plays the melody on his guitar in unison with his voice.
Also like him, and that beat up tele of his.
There's a YouTube video of him (sorry can't link right now) of him doing a live version of "Standing on the Bank". Just him and his Telecaster. It is superb.
Didn't know much about him. Saw him a couple of years ago on a friend's recommendation, he was great.
From his first album! We see him every time he is in town.
I like some of his stuff. Say him maybe 20 years ago in a small club. Good southern style stuff. We do this one, but the Muldaur version:
The Muldaur version has a different turnaround. What note do you hear on the end of the turnaround? F or E?
Oh yes. Looking forward to seeing him live for the first time next month.
Yep in fact I was just listening to his Nice and Warm Album (CD).
I have loved the title track since hearing Jonny Lang do it.
Great Cajun style Blues ! about as swampy as a big ol Alligator and tasty as a shrimp boil !
Superb player and environmental advocate for the wetlands. One of my top favorites!
And that worn-in Thinline that looks like it's been dragged through the swamp and marinated in a bayou... just wicked cool.
His tech has been begging him to buy some new guitars for years but he wont do it!
His main axe (The thinline) has extra screws and glue and God knows what else holding it together and is expected to simply fall apart every time he pulls it out.
Never seem him live but would love too. I got turned on to him a few years ago & was blown away with his playing & vocals
Here's an example of what I was talking about. It's from an album he did with Debbie Davies.
i dig him. esp his "I got loaded".
Tab Benoit is one of my favorites. Great vocals, great guitar plating, great songs.
Great player. I've got the Whiskey Store CD: Tab and Jimmy Thackery with various others. Bad blues!
