Not much too it, EXCEPT: we finally know how & why he's using 2 amps.... they are set for different sounds to complement each other, and mic'ed accordingly for live feed to the board. Very interesting....

HE says his current 2 thinlines are 72's, (I've seen them reported as being 72, 73, 74)
Jumbo frets, GHS SubZero 11-56 strings, "painfully high action", and a Super & a Twin (essentially)...

Eminence Swamp Thangs in the Cat5 2x12 "Twin", and Eminence (Legends, looks like) Alnicos in the Cat5 4x10 "Super".

Two amps with complementary tones is the way to go. I like to set one darker and dirtier and the other brighter and cleaner.

There is a thread on this on another forum, and someone posted this YouTube. Love that massive tone he's getting!

This guy is one of my measures for putting more sweat and soul in your tone.
You can't put that stuff in a pedal.

I like to plug straight into an amp too. Some amps allow mixing clean and driven channels.

Yeah, Tab just gets it done. I like his unconventional playing. He really fills out the sound.

When I saw him last year he played drums for the opening act. Didn't know why, but now I do. One of the best shows I'd seen in a very long time. He does not short change you.
