I still have work to do on the nut and the bridge but i could not resist any longer ...
First report , i suck a making nuts , i bet that's point of getting those files . Ok the guitar is loud it might just be the strings i am not use to nickel plated steel . It needs to to a fret leveling i think the 12th is too low and and a little mishap with the beveling file . The intonation is not bad to some point really playable . The pots still work the screw pole pieces need to be carefully adjusted .
I'm on my third set of nut files at this point in life. I have the Hosco set. They are the best of the sets I've purchased.
Such a tease!
Nice job ! One of those is on my "to build" list .
I will try to sit in front of the camera today !
I like it so much i already started a few more to house my supro pickups ..
I forgot a few pictures , before i wet sanded the back i used wax to fill any holes .
Because the last time it took weeks before i could set the relief i decided removed the truss rod nut , that worked !
Hi guys , sorry for the delay , i conducted a few test with the guitar to see how it sounds , i usually play in open A or G . I sounds great but i need to get used to the pickup its really reactive and raw its less permissive than i'm used to . It sound great in open A , but you know when you have this pickup if it doesn't sounds like Ry Cooder you have a problem , It has only one magnet and its plenty loud .
I tried to get the sound , so i tuned to open D and added overdrive as a boost and there it was ! It sounds like in the movie Crossroad , now i need to remember how to play in open D .
I am so busy this week i hope to have time by Sunday to play something .
That looks awseom Mark!
I really like the body style, I find it super comfortable to play.
I made one for myself out of reclaimed pine and a $100 epiphone donor guitar.
I have recently picked up a vintage pickup that I might put in it, currently has a damarzio blues bucker.
I used a lp junior style wrap around bridge and the dobro style tailpiece.
Hi Nathan , i really like your build i am also planing one the same pickguard as yours to put one of my Roadhouse pickups , i have the kingston , vista tone and the super alnico . i plan to build a slightly different guitar for each .
There i managed a little something .
I hope you enjoy .
Sooooooooo fine! Thank you Marc! Exceptionally well done.
I wasn't sure if it could give the sound since it has only one magnet , it sounds amazing to me anyway .
I have been nut abut the sound since the mid eighties , i finally got it !
I build it to sell it , but its a keeper ...
Sounds great Marc!
Looks and sounds great!!!
