the Youngbloods...the circa 1966 version...off of "Earth Music"...my first exposure to steel guitar besides
Hawaiian music, schmaltzy country, or Looney Tunes...steel so out of tune you could cry...but hey...steel CAN be cool....

What a great tune...warm and sunny Friday afternoon......rush hour traffic...I bet Mr. MegaBass 3 cars ahead...vibrating the streetlights with the speakers in his trunk aint enjoying his tunes half as much as I'm digging mine...

They were an excellent band...lot's of fond memories.

A good buddy of mine is friends with "Banana" who was the guitarist for the Y.B.'s. He now lives in NorCal and owns a winery of all things. It's called "Buffalo Blood" or something like that.

Our band does Sugar Babe. We have a pedal steel, too, now that I think about it. We aren't the Youngbloods. Both Banana and Jesse are Facebook friends. I played a festival a few years back where Jesse was the headliner, so we got to say we opened for him. Nice guy.

Such a great song! Here's Jesse in a 1975 version...great acoustic intro...very laid back groove.
