I think some people that lack tools or experience questioned how quickly someone with tools and experience can cut and route a piece of wood.

Of course some of us got a WABAC machine, and that helps.

That's one that I am sure is going to be attempted this year. Go for it!

Have pre-slotted fretboards ever been allowed, or do you usually have to work from scratch materials?

Don't they make some sort of topical ointment for that?

Anyway can't wait to start my first build challenge. Unfortunately the biggest challenge of the challenge will probably be dealing with all my errors and under developed build plan. Let the fun begin.

i hope building a neck isn't 100% necessary because i would like to enter but doubt i would have the time to finish a body and neck....let alone the body

I'm also curious about whether pre-slotted fingerboards are allowed... And do we have to make a neck?

I have a completely insane idea for a guitar I'm planning and it will be way harder if I have to do the whole neck. Then again it's my first attempt ever to build one, so if I fail I might as well fail spectacularly!

I'd guess that as building a neck was a requirement last year, it will be again. Don't worry, many were worried about the same thing last year, but it's not difficult and you will have plenty of support.

Nah....just going back to that pencilcaster thread last year.... I'm leaning in the direction to not to be a contestant this year.....3 years and 3.75 guitars was enough for me.
