I need some replacement knobs (just the knob, not pots) and I'm wondering if there's any site where I can see a wide variety of knobs that will fit a certain shaft size/type (skirted knobs with numbers, barrel knobs, speed knobs, all the knobs).

    Whaddaya got?

Try the "Knobs" section at Amplified Parts, one of the advertisers in the banner at the top of the page.

Try the Chicken Head Knobs!

Just checked and stewmc.com gave them and I also think WE Music has them- that's where i've sourced them in the past.

    Bless you all.

Chicken head knobs may be perfect for one of my guitars.

So I'm looking for some black chicken-head knobs, but I need them to fit a metric pot (6mm) rather than the 1/4" (~6.23mm).

I'm looking for this size (of the knob overall), color and style (with the raised center bit).:

I can't find the shaft size on this site, so I'm emailing them to ask. Any others?

EDIT: I noticed at the top of the page there's a sort of directory that shows the path you took through the site to get to that point. Apparently these are also 1/4".

Mojotone has a pretty good assortment. Oops edit, they're amp knobs...never mind.

Would it matter, so long as the shaft size is right? Unless the knobs themselves are massively huge, or something.

I found metric ones on Small Bear, but I'm still open to other sources. I was hopeful about Amazon, if only to avoid paying $5 shipping on a $0.85 part, but all the explicitly metric ones look like crap.

I'll let one of the more experienced builders give a definitive answer but if the overall size works for the guitar and shaft size fits should be OK.
