Fender doesn't make exactly what I wanted, so I'm adding by subtracting. FCS Texas Special with the "Eldred" mod, and a mint guard.
    2002 Fender American "Esquire".

Here's my first partscaster. Warmoth neck, esquire with a SD BG-1400 pickup and the eldred mod. This thing growls like no other. Carved the body by hand out of a piece of ash that was given to me by a friend. It actually turned out great for my first try. A buddy of mine who paints cars did the paint job and got the grain to show through like that. Its beautiful and plays and sounds like crazy. In a good way.

Aww heck...one more. You're not going to believe it...but the rosewood body in the first group above is actually the same guitar as this one. After 15 years or so I planed off the maple and used the alder core for a rosewood back and front! The "Texas" one belonged to the same guy as the lacewood one above.

Where do you get mother of pearl large enough for that?

This is just a fitting of the major parts. Still some work to be done on the electronics.

This is the FTLecaster. Pick guard and control bay cover, all in one piece, 3mm thick carbon fiber panel, cut all straight edges and sharp angles, like a stealth fighter. A pair of Quad Rail dual hummers, each with its own volume and tone control. There's a secondary output attached to the neck pup. Plug in one cord in the usual place, you got one channel with both pups. Plug another cord into the switched 1/4" jack on the front, you get two channels -- one for each pup. With two different sounding amps, it plays a duet all by itself.
