A Classic Series '50s that I recently bought off my dad... I've since hardtailed it.
Couple I bought last week.
2002 Fender Deluxe Series Super Fat Super Strat
2000 Fender MIM Relic Strat from GC, $169
I didn't know any MIM necks came with compound radii. Learn something new everyday!
They don't (to my knowledge). They don't come with stainless frets, either.
The neck was refretted. With the frets off, the board was flattened slightly, to a compound shape. Easy to do, best of both worlds, IMO.
I converted my 2012 Blacktop to three '60's style single coils. Moved second tone control to the bridge, neck and middle to the first. Re-wired my CV50 to tone controls for the middle and bridge. The neck pickup has no tone control, but it now sounds more like a lipstick pickup, bright with good low end.
My '99 natural ash American Standard. Bone stock. Only guitar I ever bought brand new. It was my main gig guitar from '99 until '12. I kinda lost touch with it but recently re-acquainted myself with it and it's been back onstage with me lately. Sounds just like a Strat should through that old Deluxe too!
Sorry about the crappy pic, but this is my #1 Strat for playing live! Warmoth 'wide-thin' rosewood fb, lefty neck(70's/CBS head), body was from a Squier(I added dunlop recessed, strap-locks), Locking tuners(forgot the brand), Gilmour EMG's(with battery box on the back). Signatures are both Will Ray, as I got to jam with him at a G & L clinic, so I brought a pile of guitars for him to sign.
My favorite is my 70s with the large headstock.
My 62 RI has Abigail Ybarra custom 69 pickups. It screams.
MIM was my first strat. My first love.
The Clapton is my least favorite. I don't like the lace sensors.
Bought a couple yesterday. 83 Smith Era Strat and a Squier Vintage Modified Strat. The pickups in the Squier are knockoffs of the SD Everything Axe set.
Is that a 70's classic at the top?
Is the red one an old American or newer Mexican?
The white one is a 70s Classic series and the red one is an early 90s Mexican.
I feel like we have the same strats just all switched up lol.
I have a pewter 1988 American Standard that I put a Mexican 70's neck on --love the U shape.
The neck from the 88 AS -- which looks like you 90's MIM -- is going on a red strat body to be my wife's.
And I have an SRV that looks kinda like your sunburst.
What year is your EC?
It is a 1999
I have never even held an SRV strat before. I can't believe that either because I first learned how to play guitar by watching El Mocambo 50,000 times.
My first Paulownia build. So very weird. It's so light but sounds sooo good.
Couple of brothers here, MIM Strat in Sea Foam Pearl, Warmoth fatback with jumbo frets. I call it my "beater" guitar, but it is the one I do the most practice on.
It's a 1998 Squire, Mighty Mite Pickups and "Jimmy Vaughn" wiring. After 20 years of playing it, I guess I am a Strat guy.
Here’s my #1
there are so many beautiful strats here that i felt sorry for my poor ugly duckling. But i do love her so. 2003 fender Japan "Antigua".
Had kitchen appliances that looked like that. Rock on!
