Welcome, Teleaddicted. Outstanding first post. There's a LOT going on on that Tele.
I've been dinking around with this for months, with other things taking priority. But it's a Sapele chambered back/maple top, made the neck out of the same sapele board. Gretsch Filtertron pups. Target Coatings EM6000 water based finish. I'm having some pup alignment issues, so a new bridge is on order. But it plays and sounds very good!
The pic of the back is with pore filler on before sanding.

The coin is an old trick shooter coin with a bullet hole shot by Herb Parson sometime in the late 50`s.
The back, i managed to get the Nitro to crack quite nice, i decided to drop the buckle rash for now. Oh and the bullet hole in the coin goes all the way tru the body of course.
The volum button has a .45 ACP cartridge as the S1-switch button.
I think it came out quite nice and the sound is awsome. Hope you guys like it.
^^^ THAT is awesome!!!!
Especially love the S1 switch. Very creative work.
Nice work !
I'm currently GASsing a Thinline Cabronita in sunburst and am thinking of swapping the black guard out for a pearloid/aged white or something else to lighten up the overall look, been searching in vain for an example where someone has done this either with any of the sunburst models.
I found a plain white one in one post but no more ( TDPRI post : show up la-cabronita)
(I know a huge chunk of the tone is in the legendary black guard, but I'll take the hit, one of my other teles will still have a black guard. )
I stuck a mint green one on mine
Its your one I meant from the post I linked - I'm red-green colour blind so it just kinda looks white-ish to me.
I'm veering towards an aged white pearloid at the moment but not too sure. Also think a triple-ply Black/White/Black (like on the one in my avatar and your other two) would look nicer than the stock solid black one that comes on the cabronita
It is a bad pic with the lighting. It actually is a lot more green than it looks. Check eBay the seller I got it from is aiguitars. They have a lot of different color options and they're only about $19 if I remember correctly. They don't advertise any pick guards with the neck pick up a notch in them but they will cut the notch at no additional charge and it's a perfect fit.
La Esquanita (Esquire PU and GFS Surf 90):
Recently replaced the black guard for something a bit more distinctive. It's actually a 4-ply laminated piece that is WBW and black abalone, but I didn't like the white border reveal so I blacked it out with a permanent marker. Much easier on my eyes now, and I like the contrast.
My plain Jane needs something to liven her up ! my pine body, squier neck and artec mini filtertron.
A nice pickguard will do the trick if you ask me
I have thought about that but then I would be in it for about $65 ! thanks I may do that.
You can cut it yourself, BT, I found some templates here, you may have to adjust them a little...
La Cabronita Baritone. 27" scale, on-off switch and blend pot wiring..
