This is my four legged companion Jaco. He showed up in November in dire need of a good human. His previous owners moved out of their apartment and just left him behind! Sometimes I'm horrified by people. Jeez.

If it hadn't been for a friend of mine living in the building (he could hear him crying all day and all night!) and breaking the lock on the apartment door to rescue him he would have starved to death. The landlord of the building told us when the people moved out and we estimate he was locked up with no food for about two weeks (the toilet seat was up so he at least had water). The vet reckoned he was only about 6 months old at the time. He was super skinny, absolutely filthy (covered in his own pee and poop) and absolutely terrified but now, as you can see, he is in fine form and is just an awesome, awesome dog. he's totally part of the family now...

Let's see your pup and share his or her story...

    Woof!!

This is Digby! Got him when he was a pup. He is the smarter than most humans I know and he is my best friend without a doubt. He loves music and lays down at my feet when I play. I am very lucky to have a pup like him.

People are the problem...they're also the solution.

Very nice looking pooch! Thanks for saving him. I know he is forever appreciative of you.

    Nice story. :)

My dog came from the RSPCA, caught wandering the streets in a nearby village. I still don't understand how that happened because, from her behaviour, she obviously came from a good loving home with children. Maybe they couldn't afford to redeem her. I chose her because she was the only dog not barking and jumping about when I went to check them out, she just sat there wagging he tail and looking at me. By far the best dog I have ever had:

The vet reckons she might be a purebred Koolie, now about 6yo. She behaves like a sheepdog; she goes for a run with a Rottweiler of uncertain temper every morning that weighs about twice has much as her, and depends on speed and agility to keep ahead of the Rottie

This is in memory of my recently departed, but whole heartedly missed best friend. I miss you, Timber.

Man, I'm sorry to hear about Timber. He (?) looks like a great pup.

She was a freak of nature at 110 pounds in her prime. This photo was when she was about 4.

Been a year next month, feels like last week. Thanks.

    This was Scarlett O'Hairy.
This was taken a month ago, the day before she was put to sleep.
It is still incredibly raw and I miss her so much.

We have about 21 acres and some beavers I am hopping she wants to "play" with.

My other dog is having to realize she is gonna be in charge.

She is sweet and he was but he tries to dominate her because he is older.

He is in for a shock. Lol.
