These things give me something to do when I get bored at work. Had to re-do the paracord on this one cos I wasn't happy with it. They're all made from old files and are sharp enough to shave with.

Now do you mean you make beer or that you make glasses empty?

I made stained glass panels for my house. Walked into a gallery/workshop and asked them to show me how to make 'em. I saved 50% by doing it myself! :D

I'm pretty proud of the sandblasted panels. They were really fun to make.

I made 5 of these. The sandblasted parts are sandwich glass. I covered the colored side with a big piece of vinyl (like electrical tape), cut the design with an exacto knife, peeled the parts I wanted to blast. It was so gratifying to see how a simple technique can turn out like REAL ART!

All of the designs have some kind of auspicious or seasonal meaning. The turtle, crane and koi are all symbols of longevity; the yellow one is a harvest moon--and yes, the little round one below is an eggplant. Many of them were cribbed from a book of Japanese textile patterns. Others were shamelessly pilfered and adapted from the Internet. Some were simply photographs that I drew over with a sharpie.

I'll pull them out and take them with me if we ever move; the next guy can make his own.

    Great idea for a thread!

I build electric violins, and plan on doing an acoustic one of these days. I also have recently gotten into photography, if that counts as making things. The electric here I built, the acoustic I did not.

One of my other hobbies is restoring old fly fishing gear. Here is a 1920s reel I redid (and still use).

Here are a couple rods I brought back from oblivion.

I did the lapidary for this set of 4 crowns:

The rest of the images are here:

    http://scametalwork.com/images/northshield_crown_gallery/index.htm

The amethysts are rough shaped, but flat on the bottom to sit in the settings better. That fit with the period we wanted. I did not do the metalwork for these (but I've dome others).

Wish I had pictures of some of the others.

I guess I could say I did this:

It's not everyone that designs their own house.

The rest of those pictures are here:

    http://http://www.raito.com/newhouse/

I did put the brick up on the front, too.

Lots of other metalwork, jewelry, etc. I did armour professionally for a while out of college until I found a real job.

I guess I just don't take a lot of pictures. The best things I've made so far as my children.
