I've got a Player Strat in Sage Green coming in sometime next week and am trying to figure out what to do about the pickguard. I love the color, but the white scratchplate is just so boring looking to me, but can't seem to make up my mind on what to replace it with, so bonus points for green strats with non-white guards. But, let's be real, green is just an underrated guitar finish and we could all use a dose of it, regardless of plastics.

Not a strat, because strats can really only be surf green. Get some point on your headstock if you wanna go green, my dude.

I also have one of these on the way, and I’m planning to go with tortoiseshell:

My pointy strat is all blue, so figured my regular one could be the green one.

Mint and tort go good with sage green. In the early ish 2000s mu high school girlfriend bought a mim standard strat in sage green metallic, and the previous owner had put a green pearloid gaurd on it. Kinda gaudy, but not as overbearing as it coulda been.

I'd say go with tort and swap the pickup covers and knobs to something. Or look into the guards with images in them.

I think the tort is winning it for me, though I actually do like 3-ply black on it as well. If I go tort, I'm probably going to leave the white plastics on or change to aged white, depending upon how it looks all together. I like that combo for some awful reason. Left brain says no, but right brain says yes.

I audibly "uhhh"-ed at that in a good way. Just figured out what my current off-tele build is gonna look like, and it's that. Is that Fender's antique olive finish?

I have a shirt I bought at Express the identical color as this. It’s my favorite shirt.
This is a beautiful guitar. Wow!

It’s actually not the same as antique olive, it’s a bit darker. It is the same olive as the Fender Mustang. It is a Chicago Music Exchange exclusive color. It came with a mint guard, but I immediately switched it to tort.

Well, I'm gonna have to squeeze somebody at CME to figure out what the heck that mix is, because it's like the perfect green for me. Dang.

Those AX series guitars are awesome. I have no idea how Ibanez cranks them out so cheap and that so few people think to recommend them when people ask about a good beginner guitar. Good enough to keep around long after you've passed the beginner stages.

This thread is making me green with envy! Wish I still had my Ocean Turquoise 62 AVRI. Then I missed out on one of the elusive Tiki Strats which came up for sale locally. Had an Antigua tele for a while though not missing that one as much.
