Should I separate these parts?

First off, this is not a solicitation, I am actually asking for some opinions.

Been trying to sell the factory loaded pickguard and backplate from my Squier standard. It is very unique being anodized gold aluminum(I know, not everyone's thing) with alnico HSS Cort made pups. No interest it seems.

Do you think I would have better luck separating the pickups and selling the guard and back cover alone?

Are you asking too much? I don't think people are buying much right now unless you're giving it away. I see the same stuff on craigslist posted and re-posted ad infinitum. (pun intended) Even reading about the "booming economy", I don't think many people have disposable money.

I may be. It is a unique guard to just a couple models. A used Ano Gold guard and backplate can go for most of what I am asking. But I may just be expecting people to make an offer, as I have given that option.

I guess I'll wait it out a little.

I was just wondering if the guard or the pups might be turning people off as a set.

Crimson Burst Flame Maple. It is REALLY a nice guitar. The fret ends were a little sharp(taken care of), and the neck is a bit thin. But now that it has some single coils in it, I am really starting to like it. I think I can live with the thin neck.

Put an SSS gold guard on it again, just not the same shade.

It is so easy to remove assemblies on strats.
Leave the picture as is.... separate the prices....
    • Guard and Backplate... $$$$
    • Pickups/pots/switch... $$$$
    • Package Deal.... $$$$ (sum - 20% or 30%)
IMO. Cort pickups have no value. They aren't bad, that's not what I'm saying, it's just that nobody will give you anything for them.

Where are you trying to sell? Locally CL isn’t too great but
I do sell a lot of stuff on eBay, despite all the naysayers it gets results and fees are 3.5% for musical gear.
Check completed sales there to get an idea of the market value.

I do have it listed on eBay. I guess I'll just wait it out. Could be I am asking too much(though I did lower it $10), could be the time of year. If I get impatient, I'll separate the sales using the same pictures, as suggested by codamedia.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    I like Reverb.

I would think the pickguard would be much more in demand than the pickups.

I don't mind the color, it is the fact that it had a humbucker that bothered me. I replaced it with a similar Fender gold anodized SSS PG.

The squier guard and back cover are actually nicer in that the edges are beveled, the fender isn't.

    Squier stuff just doesn't sell
It's all over eBay for dirt cheap.
If I'd just cobbled together my dream guitar would I buy Squier guts for it?
    Or looking to upgrade?
    Probably not.
    Sorry bud.

Although you might be correct here, I just sold my Affinity Tele neck for $70 and the bridge for $20.
