    tube_fb24dcf9-c21d-4bfe-9b9d-c25fae89e7f4_2048x2048.png I stumbled across this on YouTube and found it interesting, 'cause I'd never seen video of a tube being assembled before, even though I knew what was in one. Apologies if this has been posted before. The tube they show is an 845 which is a directly heated triode where the cathode is the heater, with no separate filament. That gigantic tube they show at the beginning in an amp is called the Kronzilla, and is capable of 50 watts in single ended mode or 140 watts in PP mode!

    I watched a tube how it's made video a week or so ago, and was shocked at how much time and labor goes into them. And it's really no wonder there are only a few factories in the world making them.
