If you can get yourself one of these, it’ll make your Rockabilly dreams come true. Pardon the crappy photo:

That, and some wet verb on slightly dirty amp, and you’re off.

It is indeed. It took some doing to get, but instantly became my favorite pedal. I never thought much of getting a preamp, but this one really does wonderful things to 'Trons and Tele bridge pickups and the tape echo is perfect for Rockabilly and Country.

I was totally thinking about the similarities between rockabilly and punk listening to all these old 50s songs. Around 2 minutes long. One quick guitar solo that kicks ass. Good lyrics sang at the ragged edge... Sure the subject matter might be different, but I think at the time the lyrics were pretty nonconformist. Glad to see someone else was thinking this too. Man, but I love me some good rockabilly.

I Fought The Law is one of the most classic punk tunes and it was written in 1960. Not to be too much of an Eddie Cochran fanboy but this is just as punk rock as you get in 1959:

Thanks for the reminder! I actually loved that movie. It came around when I needed a laugh.

I've never heard of that one, is it a variation of the Atomic Brain? I'd love to get one of his Ubangi Stomps.

    Hey All,

Everybody goes right to the standards. Nothing wrong with that but maybe try a little psychobilly as in hillbilly moon explosion - try Ebola gay for example. And there is a lot of good rockabilly music from Europe.

The only pedal you really need for old school rockabilly if you want to get the sound is an analog delay for that slapback echo ala Scotty Moore. The sounds that you heard the most were guitar and amp, but the slapback echo gives it a nice feel and sounds "rockabilly."

I played in a rockabilly band for awhile and loved it. My current band gets some rockabilly sounds at times on a few of our own tunes because both of us guitar players had played rockabilly previously.
