    He always put on a great show. I saw him with Gillan and later with GMT.

    His music seemed to me to be a perfect merger of hendrix and punk rock. RIP

    Very sad news.
    By the time I got to see Gillan he’d been replaced by Janick Gers but I later saw him with Tormé ( Phil Lewis, later of LA Guns, on vocals), with GMT and as a solo artist. At some point in the show he would say this is the 1964 Stratocaster Ozzy Osbourne gave me. Then slurp some Guinness.
