The Beaches are playing with them on the only Canadian date. The Beaches are a great, great (relatively) new band.

My Dad at 76 had a valve job just like Mick. The day he got out of the hospital we spent 10 hours, nonstop, digging up and replanting a tree. Mick should be fine, he wasn t a farm boy who could cut a cord and 1/2 of wood w a hand axe a day, but he has kept up being in shape.

I just don't know who can actually afford to go to these shows. I make decent money and I certainly use some of it t9o see live music on a regular basis, but exactly who is buying $1500 floor tickets? Or even $500 to sit way up in the nosebleeds? I mean, charge whatever you can and, obviously, there is nobody else in the Stones' league, but what kind of people are they actually playing for? Who are you seeing the first few rows these days? Must be kinda gross, I think.

Not everyone from their '60s/'70s fan base went on to be corporate executives. This greed by older acts is disappointing. I paid $500 for my lady and me to hear Simon and Garfunkel and that was only the second best seats! At least the Everly brothers were thrown in. I think EC is doing this as well.

Ditto McCartney, I was shocked to hear ticket prices.
And of course Springsteen has been doing this for a long time now, pretty ironic that one, singing about the plight of the blue collar man, but the audience is necessarily rich

corporate rock is so very boring

Well, they did play a free show in Cuba three years ago. Audience estimated at 1,000,000.

Their cover of the USA's "Love Song for the Dead Che" drove the crowd wild.

They've all got plenty of money, enough to see them through. At this point they should be playing for free or just to cover expenses imo. Charge $200 bucks for t-shirts if things are that tight but selling $1500 buck tickets is ridiculous.

I got to see them in a basketball stadium. That was big enough. I have no desire to see them in a football stadium.

No diss on those who go. I hope they play great and you have the time of your life.

My wife is a huge Stones fan - but may skip these rescheduled shows. She had tickets to the original DC show. She is growing tired of the same setlist they have played the last 36-ish times she has seen the Stones.

These "older" acts are in a procurious position - the shows have gotten so pricey that the core fans are priced out. So what do the bands do? Play all the war horses that have been beaten to death on FM radio and by tribute bands. True fans want rarities - those that can afford the tickets want the hits. Since you play to the audience...

Push comes to shove, she will probably get excited and I will have to take more vacation to get here there, or she will fly in and to a 3-day thing. I won't let her get me a ticket, since it is not worth $400+ for me to see a band I just think "meh". Well, I like the Stones music, I just don't like Jagger.

We'll see. Buy yeah - pricey.

@soul-o - $1500? That is not even top tier prices. We have seen packages with standing-only in the pit with a meet-and-greet picture (move left, smile, click, move right) go for $10,000. To stand by the stage in a mosh pit. Who is paying these prices?

Just doing some back-of-an-envelope math here - 17 shows x ~40,000 people/show = ~680,000 people who are willing to exchange $200 and up to see the By-God Rolling Stones.

How many millions of $ does it COST to put on their gig? Breakeven on tickets would still be more than some people might want to pay.

    Don't go if you don't want to:rolleyes:

I caught them in a basketball arena and that was fine, but they d be maybe more enjoyable in a football stadium. The Dreadful Great and the Irish band "Me Also" both scaled up to be even better.

You can complain all you want about ticket prices but the realty is if they priced them at $50 the scalpers would buy them all up, price them at $1000 and make more money than the Stones.

No reselling of tickets by anyone. Call your Rep and Senator , they don't go to concerts. I don't think they're owned by "Big Promotion", ...yet.

They're probably thinking that they've got to have something put aside for when they get old.:)

Ticket prices for any decent band are crazy these days. The Stones aren't "any" band.
The Stones will still deliver a really great show by a great band that has lasted a hell of a long time.
I just watched the film of their concert in Cuba and it was amazing.

    Boring? Far from it.
