This video was a huge inspiration to me when I started learning the guitar in high school. I recently found the VHS again and it really is a gem. Troy Dexter teaches all kinds of famous Tele-styles, like Danny Gatton, James Burton, Jerry Donahue and Albert Collins. I really hope they will put it out on DVD some day, in high definition and with better quality audio. Until then, this is what we have...

Great overview of different styles. It'd be great if there was more detailed examples per artist but that would've been a 3 or 5 cassette box set.

I totally love that 90's visual effect at the start. Thanks for posting.

What a great sort of "primer" on the tele. Thanks!

btw - he's got some great tone and playing style in that opening bit.

Thanks for posting the video. I've have the book that accompanies the video, there were two books, one for Teles and another for Strats. With the Strat book you could get a DVD (I have both the book & DVD), the Tele book which came out earlier had a VHS video cassette (I have the book but no VHS tape).

Great player - and that's a terrific tone through that setup, even with the slightly degraded audio
