Or maybe some posters ought to check to see what's already been posted before starting a thread. I think though that given the shock involved, it's a forgivable offense

Yes. after you pull life support, the body still goes through the
motions of trying to live. Some of the organs are still functioning
and there might be slight activity in the brain and heart.

It might even take a few hours or even a day (or more) for the heart to completely
stop beating. So to say that the report is inaccurate might be a technicality.

Pulling life support doesn't automatically stop all life function, but the
directive is clear. End the suffering.

    This day sucks. Damn.

Just played and sang Wild One Forever for about a half hour. Strumming so damn hard I probably need new strings. Tears running down my face the whole damn time.

First the atrocity in Vegas, which makes me more angry than sad. And then this, just pure effing sadness...

He is as good as dead. You don't have no brain activity, get removed from life support, and live to fight another day

    Behind my beard.
A great songwriter, musician, and storyteller - all rolled into one.

    He will be greatly missed.

So sad to hear this. I've been a fan since the '70s. I loved Mudcrutch in the last few years as well.

Such a surprise, too. I knew how old he was but didn't think of him as someone who would be going anywhere anytime soon.

RIP Tom, and thanks for all the music.

Words cannot express my sadness. TP was one of my musical heroes. His influence on me is immeasurable. Saw him live in concert twice. He can never be replaced. Words are just inadequate here. Such a sad, sad day.

RIP. Sad. A great writer and performer as well as supporter of musicians' rights.

I grew up listening to him. The soundtrack of my adolescence and into adulthood. His songs always bring back fond memories.
