I just pullled two old Alnico speakers from an early 60's Lowrey organ. According to the code 270 they are made by Quam which I've never heard of, are they any good?

Quam has been making speakers for many decades......and are still business today.....out of Chicago.
My late 60's Frazier stereo speakers.....out of Dallas.....used seriously good Quam woofers.

I have a 10" and a 12" both Alnico and from the early 60's, are they worth reconing?

I have a reconed ten inch alnico Made in Chicago Quam in an old Epiphone Galaxie amp.

It had been reconed before I acquired it. It sounds fine to my ears, for what that's worth.

When I first looked at them I thought the code was 220 which of course is Jensen, so I was quite happy. But after a better look I realized they were 270 which is Quam. Since I never heard of them before I figured I'd ask. My guess is they are not worth reconing since you can buy the same speaker in good shape on ebay for about $10

So . . did you ever get to using these speakers?

    How do they sound?
