I've got plenty of Clarence's acoustic stuff so I'm to put together a collection of his electric B bender stuff. I love the Sweetheart of the Rodeo stuff and Nashville West . What other Clarence would ya'll suggest. Gracias

There's also some good stuff scattered throughout some of the early 70's albums by Arlo Guthrie and Randy Newman.

Just to give proper credit to Clarence - the Nashville West stuff is pre-B bender...

Yeah - he was that good.

+111 The Byrd's Untitled/Unissued set has some of White's best work IMO. Truck Stop Girl is one of my favorites for the solo at the end.

Thanks everyone. The live Fillmore and Albert Hall discs sounds cool to. Not the best audio quality but plenty of room for solos.

Byrds Ballad of Easy Rider has great stuff too. Check out Oil in My Lamp and Tulsa County

Because I am so familiar with Marty Stuart playing Clarence's Tele, it is a cool experience (for me) hearing Clarence play that guitar. To me it really refutes that whole notion of "tone is in your hands". That is unmistakably the same guitar, same tone....yes, Clarence might have had the tone knob up higher and played through different amps, but that is *that* sound!

That must be one of the most uniquely modified Teles in history - pickups, electronics, routing, not to mention the wooden rim enclosing the home made metal linkage. If any guitar were to have a completely unique tone, this would be the one! See http://www.martystuart.com/zArt-VintageGuitar4-04.htm

I'll bet it wouldn't sound like that with me playing it. :D

I've seen Marty play it, and it is truly an amazing sounding instrument--absolutely unmistakable.
