    Hi

Apologies if I am re-treading an old thread, I couldn't seem to find
exactly what I was looking for ...

I really the sound of these pickups:

They are listed as being "Pure Vintage '52 Single-Coil Tele" ...

I seem to be finding it hard to locate them exactly ...

The nearest I'm finding are these:
    https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_vintage_tele_pickup_set.htm

Are these the right ones or not? Can anyone help?
I've emailed Thomann and they have yet to answer ...

    Cheers, Danny

"Pure" Vintage, "Original" Vintage, it's all the same, just different marketing labels. If it's marked "52" on the back, as the ones at Thomann's are, it's the same.

Hi - are you drawing my attention to the original vintage ones?
They're the same ones in the Thomann link I assume?

I appreciate the replies - Fender themselves have been unable to confirm
whether they are the same or not, telling me that the correct pns would be:

0094124000 PICKUP ASSY 52 TELE NECK
0094123000 PICKUP ASSY 52 TELE BRIDGE

Thomann have still not replied ...

I'm not doubting 1300's reply but I'd feel better with a 2nd opinion
before laying out for a set ... can anyone help?

    cheers, Danny

    Hi.

Can't help you sorry, but I dig your concerns. Some Fender pickups seem to be hard to pin down in their spare parts guise.

    Good luck.

The Fender part numbers quoted above are from the Original 50s Telecaster service diagram. The retail packs have a different part number starting with 099

Just to add to the confusion this is the latest retail box with different DCR figures (Nk-7.2kOhm, Br-6.6kOhm).

This is a loaded American Original 50s Telecaster pickguard. The pickups have the same hand-written '52' on them.

A lot of that is his amp and fingers - but the basic tone is identical to the OV pickups.

The Vintage Tele pre-2003 IIRC were alnico 5. Post 2003 they went to alnico 3 magnets and were called Original Vintage. I've had both - they sound marginally different. The later pickups sound a little smokier and maybe overdrive sooner. The earlier are maybe chimier and clearer. Not much in it. Not as much as brass vs steel saddles

I believe someone on this site has compared OV and the new PV and they measure up identical. Same DVR, same gauss, same resonant peak.

I have a 2006 52 I bought for my buddy's 50th at request of his missus. Through my clean 83 Superchamp it sounds pretty much like the YouTube clip - I can't play like that dude of course....
