    trying to work out power supply for scratch amp, how much current do two 12ax7s draw at 200 volts.
    or better still how do I work this out.(give a man a fish...)

    Ok that tells me my trany is almost overkill.

    but i still have to work out how to use the Duncan amps power supply designer to work out the correct resistances to get my voltages in spec

    If you can learn from here to figure out the operating point based on your component values, you can figure out the current draw for any tube at any voltage.

    Here's your fishing pole. :)

    A quick guesstimation number for a 12AX7 is about 1ma per triode (or 2ma per tube).

    using c2 as B+ to OT and c3 as B+2 feeds to 2 12ax7's
    Just trying to work out components ahead of time instead of trial and error like I normally do.
