You know who they are.
Robert Plant (Zep-era mostly)
Morrissey, The Smiths
Thom Yorke (Radiohead)
Robert Fleishman/Mark Slaughter in the Vinnie Vincent Invasion.
The original demos with Vinnie singing were (vocally) better even if the drums and bass weren't as good.
Bon Scott and, by extension, Brian Johnson of AC/DC
Tim Armstrong of Rancid (know any other singers with a speech impediment? I'll give you Mel Tillis, but he doesn't stutter when he sings.)
Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows
Ben Folds of the Ben Folds Five
Geddy. There I said it, here's my Canadian card.
Oops... Post deleted.
How did I know you'd lead with RP?
He's the first name that popped into my head for sure.
The GRATEFUL DEAD!!!! Their singing is just terrible. To top it off, at one point they even brought a female singer in to try and improve things...and it only sounded WORSE!
Bob Dylan live.
Whether you like Robert Plant or not, (for the record, I'm not a fan of some of his vocal styling, especially the higher register antics), nonetheless, this is rock & roll, not a librarian's recital. Bombast has been there since it's '50's inception. Plant jokularly referred to his Zep era self, as Percy
...It's been a long time since he mock and rolled
Jagger and Plant are preposterous? What the hell is going wrong in England these days? Who's next on that list, Freddie Mercury and Steven Tyler?
Really? putting down fellow musicians?
Isn't there a rule about hate discussion?
Where's that snitch button........ oh yeah, right here!
Wow, hating on a guy that has a speech impediment?
I can't stand the whining and moaning high register stuff of RP either. But I like Zep.
Well, seems to me pretty much the whole point of this thread is putting down fellow musicians.
FWIW, I didn't think @kelnet posted anything that put anyone down. More like asking what would put someone in a mood to rip on well-known singers.
Maybe I missed something...
I know, right? Putting down Robert Plant and Mick Jagger is just wrong.
