Would going to a 2 12 cab give a fuller sound over a single 12? I am not looking for more volume at all just quality of sound. i know there are lots of variables but do any of you choose a 2 12 even for bedroom levels for sound characteristics?

Well, I have a 4x10 (that can also be used as a 2x10 or 1x10), and I love the various tones I can get with four Webers: 10A125, 10F150, Blue Pup, Silver 10. I can get ten combos just by selecting one of the four or playing any two together. Mix and match. :D

I mostly use it with a Lil Dawg 5e3 D-Lux head, but sometimes with a Vox AC4HW1 or a VSA V15).

    I've run my Super Champ x 2 into a Tremolux (2 x 10) occasionally. It sounds incredible!

    Everything sounds better through a 4x12. :)

I sometimes play a purple wind 5w solid state micro amp through one of my 4x12. Sounds great. Class 5 head also sounds good. It will sound much louder, bigger.

My big set up is 15w into 2x12
Sometimes I even plug my 5w into the 12’s
    You’ll be good togo

Well, Jim built this for a customer: http://www.littledawgamps.com/6g11-vibrolux/

I think he can build almost anything.

You can maintain it. You get more headroom. More volume if you need/want it. I'm tempted to buy a SC x 2 head. I've got plenty of cabs.

I converted a fifties Voice of Music 8810 hifi amp into a hot 5F1. It's pretty much a one trick pony, overdrive heaven. I usually run it into a 1x15 cab with a D130. It sounds glorious.

I took it with a 4x10 cab I have to sit in with a band one night a couple of weeks ago. Everybody was wide eyed and wanted to know what the hell the thing was.

I once ran a Champ through an 8 x 10 Marshall cab. Big Champ sonics!!!

Anytime there is more air moving, there is an increase in volume.
    And...what is ‘normal’? (;^)

my special 6 head is bias modded to run a 6L6 and i get about 8 watts out of it. with a 112 vintage 30 it's loud enough for pretty much any context i find myself playing in. if i need louder i have other amps but 9/10 it hits the spot.

My little 5w tube amp is at its glorious best with 2x12s or more. I think you'll find the results pleasing. As mentioned, just make sure the impedance is reasonably matched.

My Reeves custom 12 1x12 combo is plenty loud if i want it. I am just wondering if i will get more bass and or full sound with a bigger cab. I may just be looking for an American voiced bass response though...
