I love Johnny Ramones 1 note guitar solo. Good stuff.
Stevie Ray and Jimmie playing the same guitar. Awesome!
Leads to this?
I used to rush home from school to listen to this 45.
I thought the I-IV-V-IV riff in it was so cool.
Every time i see this i get chills
That was completely awesome! Never saw that before.
I defy you not to smile.
Anything by this fella
I like this one a lot
I saw them the night before that show, and two nights before that. And I remember thinking that the whole Bobby learning to play slide on stage was an experiment that had gone terribly terribly wrong. But I gotta admit it sort of works on much of that Stagger Lee, until the end when he sort of loses his sh!it and sounds like a guy trying to whistle when he's drunk and failing badly. But for most of it, when he's accompanying the vocal, he didn't sound half bad.
I had the offer of a ticket to that Winterland show and seat on a flight from LA to SF, but I was sick as a dog and I needed to get from LA back to Tucson and get a buddy of mine who made the trip with me back as well, so I had to decline. Turned out the plane I'd have been on to SF was a small commuter plane filled with my LA friend, my empty seat, and the Grateful Dead. I really couldn't have done it, but damn, that woulda been cool. He had more fun that night than me, man - I spent the whole night of that show driving through the desert on I-10 in a beat up VW that was spewing oil, so I had to stop every 20 minutes or so and put another quart in, and the heater didn't work, so we were bundled up in blankets and shivering through the flu, which we both had. Didn't get home until about 4 in the morning on New Years Day, well after that show had ended.
Epic memories - so many epic memories around Dead shows. Both those I made and, in this case, that I missed...
Stevie Wonder, Superstition. Specifically, this performance of it:
Morning Dance....I use to work nightshift, and hear this on the Radio on the way home...
Only because of the pointlessness:
This makes me smile, not sure why. But decent cover, by a band you would not think would be doing this song.
And just for the heck of it.
This is just so cool, those bass strings look like spaghetti..?
