They make it in an 11" x 17" but your right, it would be hard to handle. I'm sure the 8.5" x 11" was difficult enough.

Thanks, but Bill has forgotten more about paisleys than I'll ever know.

His new pink paisleys are the closest thing to the '68s that I have seen.

Hey Bucko, You got any more progress done on your black and silver paisley? Are you gonna do the headstock in paisley to match the body? Just wondering how it would look if you could do the black binding around it as well.

The body looks very similar to my Tokai on the left.

Can't tell if that one is real either unless you checked the neck pocket. The Tokai on the left looks pretty close

Still, the ferrules on that one look right, like this one below is a real Fender:

A few posts back I posted a photo of a black on silver paisley.

I have close to (and probably more than) 100 hours in it.

$1400 does not seem out of line.

    :)

Fender only made one Paisley Stratocaster(see #61 below). It would be a shame to paint over it

They only made one and I think it was 10 years later in 1979

Hmm that makes sense. I always wondered why my early MIJ paisley strat has the large (yeah "big goofy headstock"-Jack Wells) and 3 bolt neck plate. Now I see. I wonder why the newer paisley strats are in the '50s style?

    Paisley/Aztec gold P bass project !

Is there any paper around ??

Rafa seems to have disappeared ... I won't do business with the paper, it's just for a personal project ...
There's a guy in Australia who made some paper but the dimensions are too short anyway ...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I was looking for a Paisley pattern to copy and came across this

    http://schneiderguitars.com/electric-guitar-repair-restoration.asp

It mentions the original was Bordens Wallpaper?

Being from the UK this doesn't mean much to me but do any of you recognise this name and is the wallpaper still available????

Sorry if I am repeating things or have overlooked this already being brought up.

Here are the ways to get the 68 Paisley "look" that I know of...

    Buy a '68 Fender
Have Bill Crook build one for you
    Tokai paisley
    Allparts paisley

The CiJ/MiJ paisleys are nice and may be what you are looking for.

The various paisley patterns printed on sparkle paper can be very nice, but stray far from the original.

Waterslide decals can look nice, but once again, can stray far from the original.

Holy crap! Did you read that link for schneiderguitars.com? He "restores" old paisley telecasters by stripping the old wallpaper and replacing it with new paper.Wouldn't that remove most of the guitars value?

Yep refinishing generally reduces value. Believe it or not there are people who will take your money to make your **** worth less than before.
