Been reading Who I am PTs autobiography, enjoying it so far.
Up to the early days of The Who , I'm up to A quick one album....I must say among a lot of great songs they really did have some very ordinary tunes in that album.
Here's Pete with a Tele to make it relevant to the forum.

Read it a few weeks ago back to back with Neil's new one & Buddy Guy's book... All three well worth the time.

Looking forward to reading it, mainly because I've always been impressed with Pete's candor and insight during interviews, even when his observations cast him in an unflattering light.

Kinda lost my appetite for this dude in 2003.

Never liked the Who or PT anyway.

    Gave me a headache.

Brett, you got something there, I kinda revisit artists over the years and try to pull the "gold" from the seams.
PTs turn at the moment, and sometimes I wonder HOW over WHO
As I mentioned in my first post, some really dodgy stuff in the mix.
Kinda hit their straps by Woodstock tho.

I've read abut half of it. I find it interesting how seriously he takes everything. He doesn't seem like a fun guy. His perceptions about the Who's music are kind of way out there.

I love their music and his playing which is perhaps better than ever though.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to ask for it for Christmas.

Finishing it off. I'm more innerested in the guitars and equipment he's used over the years and why. I don't need to know about all the other stuff in his life.

I stopped after getting halfway through it. I'm just not that interested in his take on most things that happened around him. I really do like funny stories, insight into one's musical process, and behind the scenes takes on well-known events. He just comes across as way to unhappy and dis-satisfied with everyone and everything. It became a burden to pick up the book after a while. There is no other music auto-bio even close to this one. It was refreshing, I'll admit, to read about the bad consequences that stemmed from so-called funny events on the road, in particular, the birthday celebration for Moon where he drove a car into a swimming pool. It's a sign of his growth, I suppose you could say, that he now says it was a thoughtlessly stupid thing to do, and which had bad consequences after.

So is this his book about child molestation he was "researching" a few years back? No? Gee, I wonder what happened to that project that never actually existed.

    He explains, and I'm satisfied.
