    Anyone know what p/ups should be on an 04 Tele Hywy1?
    { pre-downgrade, i mean upgrade ;p }

    http://www.fender.com/en-CA/support/articles/telecaster-service-diagrams/
    the wrong parts diagram comes up when you click onthe;
    "Highway 1™ Telecaster® 011-8000 08/01/00 Download""

    I have emailed Fender and recieved an automated response indicating that i will get a reply eventually, unless it is a performance related issue.

    thanks!

    Any clue on specs?
    Wen the neck pup is only on, it sounds like a wet blanket has been draped over my amp

    Can I check that while its wired?
    Seems pretty high to have such a muddy sound.
    What would the bridge be at ? 12ish?

    I'm checking if I have anything on the bridge.

    Lift your control plate up, put your sel. switch all the way back ( #1 bridge only) then put your red probe on the switch terminal with the neck wire on it. Should be a white wire.

    Meter on 20X

    You can. Put a cord in the jack and turn your volume pot all the way up then meter across the tip and ring of the other end of the cord. The reading should be pretty close to what you'd get right at the pickup.

    Preupgrade had blue/yellow plastic leads, plastic baseplate on the bridge pickup. Wish I had a picture of a set I had laying around. They were kinda harsh sounding.

    Here they are in a pinecaster I built

    Got a neck pic. I remember trying to find a pic of the bridge for my files and all I have is the "upgrade" one. That has blue and yellow leads as well like you mentioned the older ones have. Did the older ones have white string too ?

    pre-upgrade (circa 2004 )
    Neck Fender # 0063081000

    Found that they were the same as those on the Classic Series 60's Tele (MIM), which I have this pic of:
