Only in Japan. Some one reinvented the SG. I love it great quality. But you won't.
if it came in lefty I'd play one!
Im digging the beer opener head stock on it.
At least they got color right but there is a loop hole in the contract.
Looks like an SG with two holes in it.
During some high energy solo it just seems like my forearm could easily get stuck while palm muting.
I'd like to start posing in more pictures with full colonial garb on.
I’d slap a bigsbyon that bad boy.
Where are you going to put the Bigsby on that?
For a guitar with a reputation for neck dive, cutting out a huge chunk of wood from the lower bout sure sounds like a bad idea. That said, I'm happy to be proved wrong!
Hmm. Bloated Danelectro headstock, chopped to resemble a bottle opener. 'Commode seat' cut to the body behind the stop bar, complete with 'Gentleman sausage' relief cut.
I like the tuners, and the part twixt nut and stop bar.
SG to the next level of SGness.
Neck dive? Not my SG nor my bandmate's
The cutout becomes the focus, which is just a negative oval. The points created by the cutout don't relate to the SG horns/points very much as they're diminished by the strong oval. So that is why I would call it visually unappealing. Repetition of the shape on the headstock doesn't work for me especially because it is not symmetrical on a guitar that is at a glace very symmetric. The idea doesn't really go far enough away from a stock SG for it to work. It just looks like an oval cut out which to me is not that creative.
That was my first thought.... neck diving forever....
You know, the stereotype of Japanese guitars aping other designs is pretty old, since the 1970s I would say.
This Burns Scorpion is from 1980:
Never ceases to amaze me what folk will get up to when they're bored.....
If I EVER found one used in mint condition with OHSC at a pawnshop for $75, that sucker is coming home with me.
At the very least, I strip it of all the hardware and pickups, and use the body for firewood.
