If you could have any one pick-up guitar what would it be?

    LP Jr?
    SG Jr?
    Gretsch Jet?
    Funky Silvertone?

What others are out there? One pick-up, volume, maybe tone knob...

    Pics? Pics? Pics? :D:cool::D

I have 2 Takamines that have one pickup. I like them.

Out of the choises you gave I would choose the Esquire

Esquire, but with the LP Jr as a close second.

Esquires are great, though someday I would like to own a double-cut LP Jr. in TV yellow. I have a few single pickup guitars currently, most of which are used for slide.

This one is a Strat mongrel for slide I made from parts left over form at least seven different guitars I own/have owned (the pickguard is a floor tile). Key features include the Gibson 490 bridge pickup from an SG and a Hipshot Trilogy:

This one is a Squier parts Esquire. The neck is from a '51, body is from an Affinity. It has a GFS ashtray bridge and Lil Puncher with just volume + tone. I also gave it the partial Jeff Beck treatment:

This is a First Act Paul Westerberg sig that I use for slide. It has a GFS high output humbucker that does a good lap steel impersonation with the .013-.056 strings I have on it. It's nice and light with a contoured neck that makes upper fret access with the slide a breeze (plus it was only $68 new before mods!):

Finally, this is a Squier Bullet hardtail body with a Memphis Strat copy neck (I reshaped the headstock a bit) that also is used for slide. The pickup is from a 70's Kent/Teisco SG copy that I wax potted and made a steel pickguard for out of an old computer. It has the stock bridge drilled for three steel Tele barrels:

Yep, I like the single pickup goodness!

I have three, and your list only hits one of them. Besides my Partsquire, I have a Danelectro Convertible and a Godin 5th Ave. with a DeArmond. I will add more. From your list, I would take an LP Jr., but I keep thinking about this:

I played this for 40 years, sold it a couple of years ago (hard times) miss it a lot, even though I have a couple of other electrics now. It's a '63 Melody Maker that I got in 1968.

Please stop posting pics of that. I have never liked SGs, and I don't want to start liking them. But you're making it really difficult for me.

The "Monocaster" complete with Kinman neck pickup.

This guitar features the very first neck I ever built back in 1981 or 82. Can't remember exactly.

    It swings!
