So kind of a weird request but I am in Nashville until Friday and was wondering if anyone could recommend a guitar teacher who'd be willing to just do a one day lesson that maybe could teach with focus on the chicken picking and general country approach to guitar (like western swing, etc.)?

Because it'd be one day maybe more focus on theory and providing a bunch of stuff to practice?

Been playing for a like 10+ years but have little exposure to country and jazz (knowing that they are related in playing over changes vs. "rock" guitar playing which tends to focus less on that aspect).

Figured Nashville would be as good a place as any.

You might try Sam Ash or GC. Both offer lessons. If all else fails, PM me. Maybe we could get together and pick a bit.

I used to take lessons from a great teacher just outside Nashville, in Smyrna. Jonathon Fletcher was his name. I haven't been in the area in a few years but if he is still teaching give him a call.

Just googled him he's still there.

Had a friend a coupe of years ago that was in Nashville for a short stay and happen to ask a guy in a music store about getting a lesson from someone and the guy said well maybe Guthrie Trapp could fit you in--he just lives down the bock. He got his lesson from GT. Sorry I don't know the name of the music store.

Johnny Hiland claims to do that. I would definitely take a one off from JH, even if it was $100.
