I predict the Yankees win their series with Cleveland. (currently up 5-3 in the 5th)

This stress is gunna kill me!

I was a much happier person when the Indians lost a hundred games a year.

I was so happy when the world series was over last year for this very reason. Super tense.

Dammit you Red Sox, you did exactly what I thought you'd do but hoped you wouldn't.
    Go Tribe!

Anthony Rizzo is a great ballplayer, clutch and everything, but this "respect me" reaction is way over the top. Dude, you popped up the third out, but Mr. Cool and two other Nationals looked at each other while it dropped.

Cub nation is all on fire on how former manager Dusty Baker challenged Rizzo and was burnt. You can't argue the result, but give us a break on the fake drama.

Skully, did you go to any of the postseason games yet?

I'm a ballpark nut and love Dodgers Stadium. It's always been a dream of mine to go to a game there and sit in the Top Deck. I'd do it if it wasn't for my fear of flying, earthquakes and forest fires!
But nothing in my mind says California more than a sunset over Dodgers Stadium....

I'm hoping for a 1920 World Series rematch - Indians vs. Dodgers

I'm imagining what an Astros win would do to the national baseball writers association.

Face it, we're both fans of small market teams. To the national pundits Houston & Cleveland are just blips on the radar.

That's what makes championships for those teams all the better, like the Royals a couple of years ago. Even the White Sox really. I think the Packers are the most unique anomaly in that regard. A town like Green Bay would never even be considered for a professional sports franchise in this day and age.

Dodgers choked Arizona out. Great close out game showing determination by all players. Focused.

And...Ferrell's gone. If the Tribe loses can we get Francona back?

Yea, that didn't take long. Dombrowski never liked Farrell.

I'm going to the first game on Saturday afternoon. I had the opportunity to go to a game in the last series, but I didn't want to blow my wad on the early games, which at this point only become a fun part of the narrative if they win it all.

I've been to a bunch of playoff games in recent years. A few times, it was the final game (i.e. the deciding loss in a playoff series). One year, our seats were often directly behind those of Kurtwood Smith (Red on "That '70s Show"). They're loge seats along the first base line. They're not glamorous, but I feel they provide an ideal view of the game. Anyway, after the Dodgers lost, Smith turned to us and said, "See you next year."

The last time the Dodgers were in the series, I was a fresh transplant to Los Angeles from the East Bay, so I was rooting for the Oakland A's when Kirk Gibson hit that historic home run and hobbled around the bases. Many seem to forget that it was Game 1 in the series, but it really did seem to break the back of the A's.

I'm much less boastful this postseason, but I look forward to some good baseball.

Great game. Bottom of 9th now and glad I don’t have a dog in this hunt.
