I have zero self control. My coworkers think I need professional help. Don't we all?

I couldn't resist temptation and pulled the plug on a new Road Worn 50s Telecaster. It's metallic purple, but looks almost blue in some photos. A flash photo from my phone shows some incredible detail in the finish checking. Plays great - sounds even better!

I have never owned a relic'd guitar before so this is new to me. This is the new baby in the stable:

You may have to upload the pictures using a different method to the last up. Pics are not coming through at the moment.

Congratulations. I'd love to see the checking and colour.

I just selected a picture via the gallery on my phone hopefully it will work?[IMG]

Welcome to the club. Your pics came through from the start here.

I’d probably be in trouble too if I see one of those in shop (haven’t yet). Fender is hitting it out of the park with the RW: they know how to make a good telecaster.

    Congrats

That guitar looks awesome!! I don’t think I’ve seen one checked like that. And that color is super cool. Enjoy!

I played that same one yesterday at a Guitar Center in Chattanooga. Great guitar. I think it's the best value Fender has going, and I love it that it's finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. I'd probably change the pickups if it were mine, but that's it. Congratulations!

I think these Tex Mex pickups sound great! They have a serious bite and are actually pretty quiet. The MIJ offset Tele in my avatar OTOH, has some seriously noisy pickups

Very cool! Yes, it's the bite in those I don't like, but it doesn't mean they're bad pickups; it just means they're not my style. Like I said, it's a great Tele. Congratulations!

I like the color but would change the guard to a black one. When ever I see a relic I feel like breaking out the old bicycle chain and giving my Tele a few whacks to help it along the old relic road, but then I regain my sanity. :p

If I were ever to change the pickguard, I'd go with pearloid.

Very nice. Congrats! I don't think mine has as much checking.
