Got the latest version of the OCD yesterday from Sweetwater. I already had a Joyo Ultimate Drive that I really like except the the knobs move too easily and the level control is too touchy. Fine for home use but not for stage. I have a gig in 2 weeks so that's as good a reason as any to buy a new OD pedal; right guys? So far everything I loved about the Ultimate Drive is a touch better with the OCD. Because the level works well I've been able to really dial this thing in nicely. Playing through my SFVC I can get a lot of touch dynamics going from clean to crunchy just by digging in more. Riding the guitar volume knob gives a full range of overdrive level. Tele sounds incredible. LP sounds great too. Strat sounds good but I know there's more to be found there. It's built like a tank. No worries taking it on gigs. It's very quiet. This version has the enhanced bypass. It came with it engaged and I've left it that way so far. I don't know if it's enhancing anything but neither do I think it's taking anything away. And it's made a few miles down the road from me. Bottomline, the TS9 has been replaced, for the time being, by the OCD. As always, the true test comes when I rehearse with the band this Wednesday. I'll report back after that.
