I'm pretty much set for guitar stuff. Don't know whether I'm bragging or complaining.

But there are still some yearnings for musical gear...

    Bagpipes, always bagpipes.

Other than that, for me, it's a mandola/octave mandolin/mandocello/bouzouki (haven't decided which yet)

    How about you?

Any studio owner will tell you.... Microphones are a far bigger GAS problem than anyone could ever imagine, followed by compressors.

I need to get rid of a trumpet - really nice large bore Olds.

My wife and I will be downsizing in a few years (10?) and we look at everything we have and ask "Would you move it?"

We need less stuff - I guess more music stuff gets wrapped up in that.

I have an old Nord Electro 2, 73 key. It's old and not really upgradable but it has more than I could ever need. I wanted it basically for the Hammond sounds...everything else is just gravy!

As old as it is they still seem to hold a pretty high resale. I paid 800 a couple years ago and I see them still advertised for a grand or so...

One of these days I'm going to break down and buy an E bow. I have no idea what I'm going to use it for, they just seem cool.

Course I've been saying that for two years.

I pretty much just GAS for amps and guitars. The rest are necessities of having a functional studio. I do need another microphone right now so I can get a better sound on the drum set, which means a cable, a stand, and the mic. The thought doesn't excite me though.

Get a practice chanter. It seemed like way too much work to me. I suppose there's always another guitar. I think I need a pastel orange Tele with P-90's for example. However, I have many instruments lying around. I have a mandolin, two banjos, a violin, a button accordion, autoharp...

I've been hoping to find a great deal (under 500) on a used keyboard controller with (at least 61) weighted keys.

    Keys.

Always wanted a Rhodes MkII and a vintage Korg CX3... unfortunately can't fit them in. Synths too - have a Juno 106 stored in a studio, bought a Karma when they came out. Too bad that's busted :(

William, the Electro 2 is the one I want. I've been sitting in on one for a couple of months. The organ is great and I've also been digging the Wurlitzer EP. It's got a really nice feel.

    Yeah, microphones for Shure. :D

I'm also gassing for cabinet mic'ing gear (Cabgrabbers, Z-Bars, etc...) that get rid of those nasty IEDs otherwise known as shorty booms (again, pun intended). A good, used 49 or 61 key controller is also a source of gas right now. And to finish off the studio, I'm gassing for a good but cheap drum kit.

Is pedal steel and bass too close to guitar to count?
I'd like a new doubleneck PSG.
I'm not sure what make, just something brand new, and preferably somewhat lighter weight.
Steels are complicated, and older/used ones often have mechanical issues.
I also want a boring old MIA Fender P bass.
Rosewood, natural, tort guard, LaBella flats, ya know, like that.

I've been thinking of learning a brass instrument, specifically the cornet because as was the case with the electric guitar, I really dig the sounds they make.

Unlike guitar, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't dig the sounds I made on a trumpet or cornet.

    F-type mandolin, I don't play mandolin though.

    Decent PA system.

A collection of decent mics would be nice too.
