    First impressions:
    1. This is a fine instrument.
    2. I can see why many people love the 60's C neck shape. I was concerned I wouldn't like it since I have large hands, but I did not find it too thin measuring at .85 & 1.
    3. Not in love with the color, may ditch the mint guard. Nice dark rosewood though.
    4. Weight feels good at 7.5lbs.

    Differences from standard AVRI:
    Thin skin Nitro
    9.5 radius
    6105 frets
    Twisted tele PU's

Saved a couple hundred bucks because it had 1 very tiny nick (visible in last photo). All in all very happy with the guitar and service from Wildwood.

Wow just when I thought I was done buying guitars(ha!ha!).That looks amazing...keep the mint green pickguard as the guitar will look even nicer as it ages and the colors mellow out and look authentic vintage.Congratulations!!

Quite a beauty there ... Great colour with the Rosewood fretboard... Nice aged pearl guard will finish it a treat :)

I love them vintage white colors .. but I definately agree that the mint guard clashes!

Congrats on a great guitar! :)

Please tell us a boutique the twisted Tele bridge pup. It doesn't get much air time on these pages and I've never tried it. I personally like the 64 pups a lot particularly the neck position. It is my favourite Tele neck with the twisted tele next. I prefer the 62 bridge pickup to the 64 it is a little warmer and with a touch more balls.

Fender's white pickguards were made of celluloid plastic and faded to mint green over time and thats why we have the color today.

I played that guitar last week along with 3 other '64s.... that particular guitar was excellent. In the end I bought a '52 thinskin... but it was a very tough decision between your '64 and the '52, in the end I wanted a black guard Tele. You got a great Tele.

Very nice! I saw those (and a few other interesting Thin Skin pieces) pop up on Wildwood over the past week or so.

In the past Wildwood had gone in on these with Dave's Guitar in Wisconsin. I just checked Dave's site and they only have 1 Thin Skin series in stock - one based on the AV '59 Strat - so they either haven't gotten any of these yet, are already sold out, or they didn't go in with Wildwood on this run.

Wildwood also has a bunch of Thin Skin versions of the old AVRI '72 Tele Custom - in Keef-approved black with a maple fingerboard.
