Score of the week award goes to my mother! She found this at a yard sale with a case and strap for a grand total of $25. Univox Hi-Flier Phase 3. Body has a few cracks in the finish and looks like it's seen a lot of use. Did a quick setup and cleaning and will need to replace the 3 way because it's a bit wonky. Fun guitar with a super thin body (with plenty of weight) and a great neck. Repaid mom and tipped her with a few baskets of mums for the great find!

Nice! I grew up learning to play on a Hi Flyer with the P90 style pups, a Gibson G-20 amp and a Big Muff. Fun guitars!

Sweet!! A Phase 3 Hi-Flyer was my first guitar! I bought it used in 1978 at a yard sale with a really bad practice amp. It was awesome!
I played one in my first gigging band as well. This "Number 1." My brother-in-law has her now. He strung her lefty. IMG_1976.JPG IMG_1977.JPG
Man, I loved that guitar. Great feel, great neck and surprisingly awesome pickups; especially for Punk/Alt-Rock!

Score! Good one mom. In my family it's my dad looking out for cool stuff. He scored me a late 50s Rickenbacher lap steel once.

    Nice !!!!
I had one like yours. I gave it to a kid who was huge Kurt Cobain fan. ( I think Kurt loved these Univox Axes)

It's a Univox but a Mosrite Copy. I'm an old Ventures fan and the Ventures endorsed Mosrite in the 60's.
Cool find and it cleaned up nice! Platefire

The Matsumoku factory was building some killer stuff back then. A little rough around the edges, true, but very nice players.
I've had a couple of 335-style guitars (fully hollow, bolt on, one Epiphone, one Univox) with the best necks over the years.
The Hi Flyers are better still. The see thru buckers sound great

The bass player in the band I was in in high school had a Hi-Flyer bass. Always liked that bass.
