Hey everyone. I got my first real Telecaster today. For a good deal too. I'm not sure on the year, but it must be a few years older as it has the 6 saddle ashtray bridge and 9.5" radius. It came with a Fender hardshell case.

    First impressions:

It's in excellent condition. The neck plays very nicely and is set up with nice low action. The fret wire is a bit different that the tall frets on my Warmoth neck. The tex-mex pups are a bit hotter than the Fender O.V. pups in my partscaster. The body is ash and appears to be a two-piece. It is surprisingly light...somehow lighter than my thinline partscaster.

So far I feel like I got winner. But of course nothing is perfect. The corners of the bridge are pretty sharp and jagged. I've never seen anything like it. I'm sure I'll get used to it. If not I'll replace it.

    Thanks for looking.

HNGD! I've seen the bridge plates like that before. Yours looks particularly jagged. I wouldn't worry unless it ends up makin your palm bleed.

The Nashville - I've said this before: most of Leo's great ideas in one package. I changed the bridge to a Wilkinson three barrel compensated and got it rewired so I could have the neck bridge combo: perfect. But dam*ed great stock too.

    Congratulations!

    Congrats. :)

Question: Can you combine the neck and bridge pickups, like on a 2-pickup Telecaster?

    Thanks.

I put a different bridge plate on mine ('06) so I could go 3 saddle. Looks more "Tele" than that row of hammers

Not with the stock wiring. You could add a toggle or a different switch to achieve that though. I may do it in the future. I have a four-way On my parts caster and love the parallel/series options.

On a different topic....I need to do the Fezz Parka mod ASAP. I forgot how much treble is lost with the stock wiring.

Nice! Enjoy! I would just take a file and take the sharp edge off that bridge.

I got a Fender Super Switch to accomplish this. I lost the middle pickup alone (I never used) in the center position, and gained the neck/bridge combination that I missed from a standard 2 pickup Tele. The switch is about a $25 part.
