Here's my new 2003 American Highway One Texas after upgrades, setup, and cleaning. First upgrade I added a bakelite black pickguard.

Added a Glendale stainless steel single cut bridge plate.

    Gotoh titanium compensated saddles.

Added a "Fender Corona California" neck plate. The wood grain is swampy I like it!

Close up of the Glendale bridge plate and Gotoh titanium saddles. This is how she sits after string height and intonation were set.

Finally a set of Gotoh locking vintage tuners.

Looks great. Those saddles and bridge look high quality.
Very nice grain and burst on that body.

How are those glendales? Have brass compensated and love the threaded steel so wondering how these feel. Have an esquire.

You know I elected to go with the Gotoh titanium saddles instead of Glendale saddles. They intonated perfectly by the way, look closely the string groove has offset break points for intonation.

    Gorgeous!

Glad to see that Dale Clark is now doing an eccentric slot form saddle, Marc Rutters style. Very nice.

My YMMV thought is, the vintage lockers are not necessary, but much respect for a really spiffy looking guitar!

Btw, I have an alder body Highway, Tommy Rosamond neck that's pretty similar and may be one of the nicest alder bodies you'll see this month - but the ash has got me beat!

I still have my 2004 Hwy 1 and it has had a Gotoh bridge set-up and Alnico 111 p/ups.
    Still my favourite guitar.

    Looks great.

For some time now, I've wanted to do a mid-'60s-style assembly project using one of those bodies (I would prefer a different neck than stock). They look great.
